Regulations & Compliance
The Oregon Public Utilities Commission regulates investor-owned electric, natural gas and select water companies. The PUC does not regulate people’s utility districts, cooperatives or municipally-owned utilities, except in matters of safety. The State of Oregon is open to billing of tenants so long as a landlord does not charge more for services than what the utility provider charges them and discloses all billing methods to tenants.
